Over the past 30 years, thousands upon thousands of butts have sat in the seats at Rogers Arena for various sporting events, concerts, and awards shows. Now, after three decades, those seats are finally being replaced. The new seats are black and feature higher backrests, as well as, for the first time ever, cupholders. The Canucks had just a 0.5% chance of winning either of the two draws that were televised live on Monday evening. What was surprising is that two other teams with low odds did move up. The New York Islanders had the tenth-best odds to win the draft lottery after finishing 23rd in the NHL with 82 points, eight points behind the Canucks.
