Though Agyeman’s mental health advocacy work officially began during her pursuit of a Master’s in Public Health, she was raised to always keep community in mind. Growing up West African and seeing her family take care of others in need emphasized the idea that Agyeman would always be a part of a bigger collective.

A death investigation is underway after a Covington man discovered a body in a lake Monday afternoon. The Newton County Sheriff's Office responded to a drowning call on Gibson Way after a man out for a walk stumbled upon an unidentified woman floating in a nearby lake. When deputies arrived on the scene of Gibson Way they were unable to access the lake and, as a result, moved the investigation to an alternative access point near Georgia Highway 212.

ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are investigating after a security guard was shot Tuesday evening trying to intervene in an attempted auto theft. According to police, it happened in the 3400 block of Landrum Drive. The call came in after 7:30 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they said they discovered a security guard had been shot in the leg.

Every year on September 29th, Elaine's family and friends reunite at her gravesite in Gainesville to grieve and bring awareness to the importance for justice in her case. "Just be aware, there is a killer out there and somebody knows something about her case, you can't go 25 years with telling somebody something," Jennifer Boyd, Elaine's friend, said.
