Executive Chairman, Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State, Anas Isah, has said more than 200 non-federal security operatives were working round the clock to help keep terrorists at bay in the area.
Isah, who was speaking in an interview with newsmen, said of the number, 180 of them were members of the state government-established Community Watch Corps (CWC).

Security operatives have neutralised three suspected terrorists and rescued 84 abducted victims in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, March 18, at about 4:30 p.m., happened when a joint security operation ransacked the enclave of a notorious terrorist leader, Sanusi Dutsinma. Those rescued consist mainly of women and children, with a breakdown comprising seven males, 23 females, and 54 children.

The Katsina State Police Command has said a joint security operation foiled a bandits’ attack and neutralised one of the hoodlums in Dutsinma Local Government Area.
A statement by a spokesperson for the command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, said the incident occurred on Saturday, March 15, at about 12:30 p.m.He said several items were recovered as exhibits from the area, including an AK-47 rifle and ammunition, a motorcycle, wraps of Indian hemp, and dangerous drugs.

The Katsina State Government has said it expended over N5.8 billion to construct and rehabilitate dams and water schemes with the view to providing water for consumption and irrigation activities in the state.
Deputy Governor of the state, Farouk Jobe, who stated this while briefing newsmen on Sunday, also said a sum of N2.3 billion was expended to provide water for rural communities across the state’s 34 councils.
