Summer-Like Weather SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - Seasonable temperatures continue for the most part on Tuesday. A cut off area of low pressure will sit to our south during the day. The low will slowly move away from us but only to be replaced by overall troughing over the Western U.S. In the short gap, inland temps will warm 5-10ºF Tuesday, but we’ll likely remain unchanged on the coast.

Temperature Ups And Downs SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - A cutoff low will travel southwest of us during the day. This will promote some offshore flow aloft along with deeper mixing within the marine layer and could reduce afternoon cloudcover. Low level winds are now looking more southerly into Monday afternoon as well, which would mean for a warmer day in Monterey and a cooler day in Santa Cruz.

Clouds Thicken SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - Temperatures drop for inland areas on Sunday as the big hot ridge weakens and a cut off low to our south slowly moves northward. Temperatures aloft drop 10-15ºF for our area which will be realized for all inland and mountainous areas. On the coast, the deepening marine layer will make it easier for clouds to stick around Sunday afternoon and thus, coastal temps will cool as well.

Inland Heat, Air Conditioned Coast Another toasty day today for inland areas as a dome of heat sits over much of California. Inland areas are likely to see high temperatures 15-20ºF above normal and may approach records. Light onshore flow will keep the coast comfortable, but highs will also be warm for this time of year.
