Damp, Then Warmer SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – Cool and slightly damp conditions will continue into Thursday as a cut-off slow slowly passes by to our south. While widespread rain is not expected, occasional sprinkles or patches of drizzle will be possible through Friday morning. Temperatures remain cool for this time of year.   Thursday: Widespread clouds early, scattering out in the afternoon. Cool, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s on the coast and 60s to around 70ºF inland.

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – The best chance of rain over the area will be on Wednesday, but it is still a relatively low chance. Even lower, but not zero percent, is the threat of thunderstorms. There is enough instability to get a thunderstorm going, but it may be difficult to access given the structure of the atmosphere on Wednesday. The most likely scenario is that we see partly cloudy skies throughout the day with maybe a shower or two.

Slow Moving Low SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – Cooler, unsettled weather will be with us through mid-week. A cut-off low will slowly pass over the region Tuesday through Thursday bringing cooler temperatures and just enough moisture and instability to get a few showers going. Whether they’ll be right over your head is the big question for now! If everything lines up perfectly on Wednesday, there may also be a slight chance for a thunderstorm.

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – Don’t let Sunday’s warmer weather fool you, Monday will bring a return to cooler weather (for most). A trough approaching from the west will cut off a low by Tuesday. This low will move over the West Coast bringing cooler temperatures and slightly unsettled weather.    Air Quality: Good Monday: Patchy low clouds & fog along the coast, otherwise mostly sunny.

Low clouds can still be found near the coast, especially the southern and eastern portions of the Monterey Bay.
