SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – The best chance of rain over the area will be on Wednesday, but it is still a relatively low chance. Even lower, but not zero percent, is the threat of thunderstorms. There is enough instability to get a thunderstorm going, but it may be difficult to access given the structure of the atmosphere on Wednesday. The most likely scenario is that we see partly cloudy skies throughout the day with maybe a shower or two.

Slow Moving Low SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – Cooler, unsettled weather will be with us through mid-week. A cut-off low will slowly pass over the region Tuesday through Thursday bringing cooler temperatures and just enough moisture and instability to get a few showers going. Whether they’ll be right over your head is the big question for now! If everything lines up perfectly on Wednesday, there may also be a slight chance for a thunderstorm.

Here's @erika_kion's forecast:

Low clouds can still be found near the coast, especially the southern and eastern portions of the Monterey Bay. Mid-level clouds continue to join the mix, but you can expect mostly sunny conditions inland. Highs-cooler today. Winds will be gusty at times. https://t.co/Jkdjiu5gtO https://t.co/nLXxi6wB7s
