Quickly Cooling SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - Temperatures head upward Wednesday as a strong ridge of high pressure surges in from the south. It will compress the marine layer and push inland temperatures into the 80s-90s and even 100s for some southern valleys. Coastal areas will warm slightly with the lighter onshore winds, but a few low clouds may linger unlike previous days. A compressionally stable marine layer with slightly higher moisture content will help keep a few clouds around.

Mid-Week Warm-Up SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - Tuesday is trending sunnier as dry northwest flow continues. That flow could be gusty at times on the exposed coast and in the valleys. Temperatures will remain seasonable on Tuesday before high pressure nudges in from the south Wednesday. Inland areas will jump up 5-10ºF day to day, especially higher in elevation and farther away from the coast.

Temperature Kiddie Coaster SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - We’re in a fairly quiet summer pattern, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see a few ups and downs. A weak trough will pass by to our north to start the work week which should briefly deepen the marine layer and bring cooler air into inland valleys. Relatively dry northwest surface winds will limit marine layer clouds, however.

Pleasant, Summer-like Weather SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - You probably won't notice those temperatures changing much until early next week. Coastal temps, however, will remain fairly consistent throughout the weekend. Northwesterly winds will be gusty each day. Air Quality: Good to ModerateSunday (Father's Day): Conditions a bit warmer and sunnier (less high clouds). Mostly to partly cloudy skies will give way to mostly sunny skies inland.

Fewer Clouds SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - Not much change in the forecast in the coming days. We’re still leaning toward slightly warmer coastal temperatures as we approach the weekend. The upper level pattern remains quiet with us stuck between distant forces. The marine layer will remain fairly steady in the coming days, though some drier air may make cloudcover a little thinner.

Here's @erika_kion 's forecast:

Enjoy the beautiful day across the Central Coast. Temps will be a bit warmer, with plenty of sunshine for you to enjoy. Take that lunch outdoors, or enjoy a little time at your local beach - north side of the bay will be nicer. Full Forecast Here: https://t.co/f3skdX0MRj https://t.co/2TjlLCZWDS
