Beginning Wednesday, May 14, and continuing into the weekend, high temperatures in the Lufkin and Nacogdoches areas are expected to reach the mid-90s. That would shatter the record high temperatures (93) that were set over 110 years ago (1911).

Meanwhile, the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is advising residents from Austin to Lufkin to be prepared for the possibility of EF2 or stronger tornadoes. The size of the Flood Watch is massive (shaded green in the map below), encompassing portions of New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and all of Louisiana.
