This year’s analysis compared the study’s top-performing hospitals to a peer group of similar hospitals and found that Premier’s 100 Top Hospitals delivered better outcomes while operating more efficiently. Compared to their peers, this year’s top performers achieved:· 39 percent fewer inpatient deaths than peer hospitals.

Earlier this month, Angelina College Police Chief Doug Conn announced his retirement from AC. On Tuesday, a retirement ceremony was held in Chief Conn's honor. Conn was the college’s first police chief and the leader of one of the state's most recognized police academies. Conn, whose law enforcement career has spanned more than 40 years, helped with the academy’s beginnings back in 1993, when Conn served as a training specialist.

The Hudson ISD Board of Trustees has announced that Scott Martindale has been named the Lone Finalist for the position of Hudson ISD Superintendent. In an e-mail sent to Hudson ISD staff by retiring Superintendent Donnie Webb, it was noted that the HISD Board of Trustees spent 'countless' hours reviewing, assessing, and interviewing a large number of highly qualified candidates for the position. Scott Martindale will bring over 13 years of educational leadership experience to the District.
