In a surprise move, the Murph goes from movie watch to a collection all its own. Sometimes a watch only exists within a very specific context, relegated to an eternity of association to a very specific thing. Sometimes that can be a good thing (ahem, Speedmaster Moonwatch), but it can also be the horological equivalent of typecasting and nobody wants to be George Costanza forever.

Three dials represent three cities: London, New York, and Paris. I’ve been covering and getting to know the team at Baltic watches for about half a decade now, and in those five years I have watched the brand – with founder Etienne Malec at the helm – transform itself from “microbrand” playing in the vintage-inspired sandbox, to venerable player in the game full stop.

It really brought the line into the mass consumer limelight.

Oris, France’s Ligue de Football Professionnel and the French association of children’s charities (CNAPE) come together for the LFP Limited Edition: a watch for a great cause. Oris is a brand known for its sustainability efforts, and it chooses its partnerships wisely in ways where it can either fight for change or promote efforts to that effect. This new release is no different but it is no less a unique approach.
