Hongkongers travelling to Macau can speed up immigration clearance using an eye scan starting this week. Authorities in the gaming hub said on Monday eligibility for its iris recognition immigration clearance had been extended to Hong Kong permanent residents who had registered for its automated passenger clearance service. Eligible Hongkongers can begin using the service from noon on Wednesday.

Hong Kong police have arrested a mainland Chinese man for allegedly discharging fireworks at Tsim Sha Tsui’s Avenue of Stars. The arrest followed a video that had been circulating on social media since Sunday, showing a man with a braid igniting a firework stick at the waterfront promenade near K11 Musea. In the clip, the man was heard speaking in Mandarin, repeatedly telling the person filming to stop recording.

A transport worker who turned himself in to police has been arrested on suspicion of receiving some of the HK$380,000 in cash snatched during an armed bank robbery in Hong Kong, the Post has learned. The worker, 47, surrendered to police on Wednesday, two days after a Hang Seng Bank branch at the Fortune City One shopping centre in Sha Tin was robbed by a man armed with a 30cm knife.
