One of the best parts of my first home was the backyard that was lined with lemon trees that overflowed with fruit every spring. I would gather baskets full and use the juice for all my favorite lemony treats—fresh lemonade, iced pound cake, and best of all, zesty and bright lemon bars. There was something about those homemade lemon bars that felt perfect for warm-weather gatherings. Since then, I’ve upgraded my living space, but that meant that I had to say goodbye to my lemon trees.
