Dishoom has confirmed an opening for its Permit Room all-day bar and café concept on Trinity Street in Cambridge. The Permit Room first launched in Brighton. Dishoom has run a food delivery service in Cambridge since 2021. Seafood group Rockfish has submitted plans to open a new restaurant in Budleigh Salterton in east Devon. It plans to take over and expand the Longboat Café in the town. Rockfish currently has eight restaurants, with more openings lined up for Salcombe, Sidmouth and Topsham.

Spring has sprung in the northern hemisphere; the frost is melting, the days are lengthening, and there are signs of new life all around. Shake Shack is to open at St Pancras in London in the summer—its first site at a UK train station. Shake Shack currently has 18 sites in the UK. The Individual Restaurants Group’s Italian brand Piccolino is opening on the high street in Marlow in the summer, in a unit previously run by the group as the Marlow Bar & Grill. US-based Mexican brand Chipotle opened on Tottenham Court Road in London this week—its 19th location in the UK.

All-day group Caravan is opening by the Aviva Studios in the St John’s district in Manchester in the summer. The 10,000 square feet venue with 200 covers will be Caravan’s first launch outside London, where it has eight locations. Boxpark has announced it will open its new venue at the Cains Brewery Village in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle on 19 April. The 21,000 square feet site with capacity for 1,500 people will host eight independent food and drink operators plus live event space.
