    Thirteen people were arrested for various offences during police exercises conducted in the Southern and Central Divisions on Thursday. Reports state that between 1pm and 6pm, officers of the Southern Division Task Force (SDTF) conducted an intelligence-led exercise in Area East of the Division, targeting several known drug blocks. Four men were arrested. A 29-year-old from Tarouba Heights, San Fernando, was held for wearing camouflage clothing.

    A firearm, ammunition, and a quantity of narcotics were seized by police officers in the Tobago Division on Thursday. According to reports, between 9:45am and 3:45pm that day, officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, Guard and Emergency Branch and Canine Unit conducted a roving anti-crime exercise. During the operation, they received information that led them to a home located on Miller Street, Buccoo Village.

The issue emerged as a significant national concern following a recent school fight which was recorded on video and uploaded to social media. In the incident, a female student of the South East Port of Spain Secondary School suffered a fractured nose, broken tooth and other injuries after she was beaten by classmates in the washroom.

    A 14-year-old boy from San Fernando has been reported missing. Mosthigha Sanderson, who is from Palmiste, was last seen on June 3. A report was made at the San Fernando Police Station the same day. He’s of mixed descent, approximately 5 feet 6 inches in height, dark brown in complexion, slim build with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeved jacket, dark-coloured track pants.
