On 30 July, a large group gathered outside Southport mosque in Merseyside. The day before, an assailant had entered a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in the town and stabbed several children and two adults. Three of the young victims died. Owing to the age of the suspect, police could not immediately identify him, but online speculation was rife that he was an undocumented Muslim immigrant.
