It's been a few months since Kyzir White first posted on social media his goodbye to the Cardinals, and a few weeks since new QB Jacoby Brissett was issued jersey No. 7, which is what White had worn his two years as inside linebacker. But until this week, there hadn't been any real acknowledgment that there would be change at inside linebacker until coach Jonathan Gannon was asked how the Cardinals were handling moving on from a guy who had been a key defensive cog.

At one point during a recent conversation among teammates, someone referred to new/old Cardinals veteran Calais Campbell as "Mr. 110."The nickname struck Darius Robinson odd in the immediate moment. He remembered that safety Budda Baker had reached his 100th NFL start last year, but Campbell, being much older than Baker, had to be well past 110 starts. Then it hit Robinson – the 110 was the number of sacks Campbell had piled up in his career.

The Cardinals began Phase Three of their offseason program on Wednesday, the first of six organized team activities in which players can now wear helmets and have offense v defense work. Sean Murphy-Bunting had been signed as a free agent in 2024 to provide some experience at cornerback for the Cardinals, as the team spent extensive draft capital at the position. The Cardinals will have to lean on those young corners with Murphy-Bunting lost for the season with a knee injury, coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed on Wednesday. "It happened in the offseason, he had to have surgery to get it fixed, so he won't be able to play this year," Gannon said.

Budda Baker had gotten to the end of a lengthy press conference last week -- the one where I was for some reason stunned to realize he was still in his 20s, even going into his ninth NFL season -- when he uttered what I thought might've been his most interesting point of the conversation.

RT @ZachAZCards: Because of OTA rules, Jonathan Gannon believes an offense is usually ahead of the defense during this time of year. Howev…

.@Darius6Robinson knows he was "hot" for the #AZCardinals in camp before his 2024 calf injury. He wasn't when he finally played. "We're in Phoenix. I have to find a way to get it hot again." https://t.co/NYYS59soNF
