The 39th edition of BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival (19th – 30th March) has today announced its Opening Night Gala will be the International Premiere of Andrew Ahn’s touching dramedy The Wedding Banquet. Andrew Ahn is expected to be in attendance on the opening night of the Festival, Wednesday 19th March, at BFI Southbank.

Glasgow Film Festival 2025 (GFF25) has announced the full programme for its 21st edition. Across 12 packed days, Scotland’s largest annual celebration of cinema will showcase 91 World, UK and Scottish premieres from 39 countries. GFF25 will open on Wednesday 26 February with the Gala World premiere of tour-de-force survival thriller Tornado, the hotly-anticipated sophomore feature from Scottish director John Maclean (Slow West).

Now in its ninth year, the Midlands Movies Awards encourages independent filmmakers of all ages and backgrounds to submit creative film projects for viewing by industry experts. On 2 December 2024, Iris Prize Outreach announced a £137,500 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to preserve and celebrate the heritage of Iris Prize, the organisation behind Cardiff’s LGBTQ+ film festival and the world’s largest short film prize. Established in 2006 the Iris Prize has proudly shared LGBTQ+ stories with audiences in Cardiff and across the UK.
