Coming off a 4-7 season and a first-round playoff exit against Pierce County, the Red Devils begin their second campaign under coach Thomas Clark, who turned 46 on Monday.

Jackson’s boys finished 16th and its girls 23rd in the Georgia High School Association state track and field championships last week in Commerce, with T.J. White turning in a third-place performance for the boys and Ariyah Burke placing third for the girls. As usual, the distance events proved to be Red Devils strengths, with White finishing third in the 3,200-meter run in 10:16.68 and eighth in the 1,600 (4:45.11). Santiago Reynolds came in 11th in the 400 in 4:52.04.

High school football and professional wrestling will become best friends Friday in the Jackson High gymnasium. The Good Brothers and a host of their friends and frienemies from inside the ring will put on a show that is geared to raise funds for the Red Devils football team, which enters its second season under coach Thomas Clark.
