US President Donald Trump will put in place 25 percent tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico and 10 percent tariffs on goods from China effective Saturday, the White House confirmed on Friday, ending weeks of intense speculations. The tariffs are in retaliation for “the illegal fentanyl that they have sourced and allowed to distribute into our country,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said. “These are promises made and promises kept by the president,” she told reporters.

TikTok’s service in the United States was restored on Sunday after the app briefly went offline due to a federal ban which left millions of American users temporarily locked out. The short-lived blackout, which began on Saturday night, followed the US Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a law banning TikTok on national security grounds unless its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, agreed to sell it. By Sunday afternoon, however, the app soon flickered back to life and was online for US users.

The network includes six fully automated metro lines, 85 stations, and 176 kilometers (109 miles) of new track, making it the world’s largest self-driving public transportation project.
