Open Forum: School Board member reflects on Tuesday's meeting

Tuesday night the School Board of Frederick County met for its monthly meeting. During these meetings, we provide the community with the opportunity to make comments about things with which they have concerns or of which they are proud. A great deal of the comments last night were about a program that was offered in one of our schools that did not meet the standards of our school division. Once this program was brought to our school division’s attention, it was removed.

To the citizens of Frederick County: I am running for the School Board of Frederick County's Opequon District. My message is simple: I want to see through the building of our fourth high school and start addressing the overcrowding in our elementary schools. I want to attract and keep quality teachers in our public schools through partnerships with other organizations in our county. I want to reinvigorate communication between the School Board and the Board of Supervisors through joint sessions.
