PRINCE GEORGE - Spirit of the North is the health care foundation for northern BC. The Foundation steps in when provincial funding for healthcare equipment stops. Donors give almost half of the raised money anonymously. These types of donations continue to make a big difference in healthcare in the North. The Festival of Trees is the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation's primary fundraiser. During this past festival, a dedicated volunteer's family donated one million dollars in her honour.

PRINCE GEORGE - The B.C. River Forecast Centre's first Snow Survey and Water Supply Bulletin of 2024 was released this week, and it paints a dire picture for the upcoming summer. According to the snow survey from the provincial snowpack, it is extremely low at 56 percent, of normal for this time of year. In the mountain areas northeast of Prince George the snowpack is low. The Upper Fraser East is 63 percent of normal, and the Lower Fraser is 35 percent.
