He struck out the next three batters on 10 pitches, with the one ball allowing a Tracy run to score. Sprecksel struck out three more in the fifth inning before the Marlins ended the game via the mercy rule in the fifth at 16-6 in a consolation contest of the District 67 50/70 All-Star Tournament at Legacy Fields. Manteca’s big inning was the fourth with seven runs.

STOCKTON — After a heart-breaking error-induced loss to the Northgate Cubs on Saturday, the Ripon Rays came back with a vengeance on Sunday, belting out 17 hits on the way to a 12-4 win over the Cubs for the District 67 Minor League Tournament of Champions banner at August Knodt School. TRACY – Jonah Grubb’s three-RBI double was the highlight of a five-run second inning for Spreckels Park in a 12-6 win Sunday over the Manteca Marlins in second-round action of the District 67 Intermediate 50-70 All-Star tournament at Legacy Fields. Grubb and Evan Zeiher were each 2 for 3 with a double with Zeiher’s double knocking in a run in Spreckels Park’s five-run sixth, giving his team some breathing room after Manteca had closed to within 7-5 in the top of the sixth.

SALIDA – Max Devereaux laced a two-out, two RBI single in the fifth inning Thursday that ended the game via the eight-run mercy rule, giving the Ripon Mets a 9-1 win over the Patterson Mariners in quarterfinal action of the Little League District 67 Majors Baseball Tournament of Champions at Salida Park. Devereaux’s walk-off capped a four-run fifth for the Mets.

The Manteca FC Rebels closed out their redemption tour Saturday night at Ripon Christian High School with a 2-1 win over Azteca FC of Merced, giving the Rebels their second win in as many games that avenged earlier-season losses. “We felt like we let some opportunities go on the road in Madera and Merced,” Manteca coach James Burns said. “We didn’t feel like we played a full 90 in those games, and we have talked for the last three weeks about seizing the opportunity for redemption.
