BACKGROUND There is rapidly emerging evidence of the efficacy of using psilocybin in the treatment of ‘treatment-resistant depression’ (TRD) (Romeo et al., 2020). Two studies (Carhart-Harris et al., 2016, 2021) demonstrated that psilocybin-assisted supportive therapy for TRD contributed to improvements in depressive symptoms.
