They should be sitting at a position where some intriguing defensive talents and possibly a top tackle are available for them there, and I don’t think anyone would be particularly vexed if they came away with a potential high-end starter by sitting still. This is also a draft class where circumstances may conspire to move the Falcons off their pick.

Sometimes that’s a lot of fun—I got to zero in on how great the No. 8 pick has been last year and remember favorites like Stephen Nicholas and Jerious Norwood—and other years it’s vaguely depressing. Native Georgians—and Georgia Bulldog fans in particular—often clamor for the Atlanta Falcons to add more talent from that pool. Per the NFL’s announcement, the Falcons will hold OTAs from May 27-28, on May 30, from June 2-3, and on June 5. Mandatory minicamp will kick off on June 10; ideally the Falcons would have a pretty set roster at that point, which might include a trade for Kirk Cousins.
