The Wisconsin Badgers basketball program held their media day on Wednesday as preparations continue for the 2023-24 regular season. Coming off a disappointing season last year, here are a couple of takeaways as the season is about a month away from starting. The biggest bit of news to come out of media day was that three key players on the Badgers roster will be listed as juniors this year.

Things weren't looking great for the Wisconsin Badgers in the first half against Georgia Southern. The offense couldn't gain traction and take advantage of opportunities and Georgia Southern was giving the Badgers more than they could handle. The game went into halftime a 7-7 tie and there were nerves abound. In the 2nd half, the Badgers started looking like the team they're expected to be, scoring 28 unanswered points to beat Georgia Southern 35-14.

The Wisconsin Badgers run in the NIT came to an abrupt and shocking end on Tuesday night as the Badgers fell to the North Texas Mean Green 56-54 in the NIT Semifinals. The Badgers did not score a single point in the final 9:07 of the game. Their last points came on a Connor Essegian three pointer to end a 4 minute scoring drought, but it brought on an even bigger drought.
