The Wisconsin Badgers basketball program held their media day on Wednesday as preparations continue for the 2023-24 regular season. Coming off a disappointing season last year, here are a couple of takeaways as the season is about a month away from starting. The biggest bit of news to come out of media day was that three key players on the Badgers roster will be listed as juniors this year.

Things weren't looking great for the Wisconsin Badgers in the first half against Georgia Southern. The offense couldn't gain traction and take advantage of opportunities and Georgia Southern was giving the Badgers more than they could handle. The game went into halftime a 7-7 tie and there were nerves abound. In the 2nd half, the Badgers started looking like the team they're expected to be, scoring 28 unanswered points to beat Georgia Southern 35-14.

With Oregon missing their top three leading scorers, the bulk of their offense was led by Keeshawn Barthelemy and Quincy Guerrier, who combined for 29 points. Wisconsin was able to take a 27-26 lead into halftime but found some struggles in the second half, going through stretches of 1-15 on field goal attempts followed by a 1-12 stretch.

Spring is in the air and that means Wisconsin Badgers spring practice will be getting underway. Beginning on Saturday, Badgers football will have the first of their spring practices, which have been highly anticipated since the hiring of head coach Luke Fickell. At his press conference on Monday, Fickell spoke to the beginning of "Phase 3" of their offseason program and maximizing opportunities to work on football after weeks of offseason strength and conditioning.
