Good morning and welcome to Markets Today. FTSE 100 futures are up 0.8%, about in line with the rest of Europe and US contracts, after the index finished 3% higher yesterday. They sit nervously as the child they raised breaks into the lineup and scores a goal or hits a home run. It wasn’t quite the same, but Rich Lowin felt that nervousness at Jordan Lanes as his young daughter slapped Xs on the scoreboard on the way to her first career perfect game. Kayla Lowin felt the pressure but thanks to her dad’s words of encouragement, the process was a bit easier.
