Trojans get a No. 1 seed as boys pairings announcedFindlay earned the No. 1 seed and, FHS coach Jim Rucki hopes, the possibility for a more favorable path for the post-season trail following Sunday’s bracketing for OHSAA tournament games. Unlike bracketing in Divisions II, III and IV, Northwest Ohio’s 20 Division I schools were all seeded as one grouping.

Findlay shakes off sluggish start, upends ElidaFindlay’s offense did some pinging and sputtering on Tuesday. By the end of the game, though, the Trojans were clicking on all cylinders. Tuesday’s nonleague game with Elida was expected to be a good tune-up for Friday’s Northern Lakes League showdown with Toledo Whitmer. After a shaky first half, that’s what it ended up being with Findlay’s offense finally kicking into high gear and racing to a 62-30 win over the Bulldogs.

He figures it’s time, though, to identify with another more personal title. “It’s time for me to be a dad,” McGrain said Wednesday when Arlington High School announced he was stepping down as the Red Devils head football coach.
