RETRO 102.5 is Northern Colorado's #1 station for listening at work, and it's time for us to thank you for listening; so, we're throwing a party. Since RETRO 'The 70s 80s and More' launched about six years ago, Northern Colorado has wrapped its arms around us, making us #1 in the Ft. Collins/Greeley radio market. With that, we felt it was time to gather to say "Thanks," and "Hello" at the same time.

Those in Colorado have a strong love for dogs, craft beer, and having fun. Those three come together with a summer bingo event in the Fort Collins area every summer. The Animal Friends Alliance of Fort Collins, which guarantees that every dog/cat that they take in will stay with them until the find a home, benefits from this fun summer event each year.

If there's one thing many cities in Colorado need, it's water. The more our Colorado communities continue to grow, the greater the need for that water is going to be. Maybe, like this writer, you had no idea that below the surface near the Colorado-Wyoming border there's an aquifer. Well, know we both know; and I, for one, am intrigued. The population of Northern Colorado is expected to go from 600,000 people to 1,200,000 in the next 20 years.

If you like waking up in Colorado and having a tasty bowl of Cheerios for breakfast, you might want to brace yourself for some news. Thousands and thousands of Coloradans love Cheerios, not only for breakfast but as a snack. They're small, they're easy to prepare, and (for the most part) healthy for you. But there's only so much space on grocery stores' shelves, so three have to go.

Summertime in Colorado means that not only will Coloradans be outside more, but people will be coming to the state to visit. With our higher elevation, you should do your utmost to protect your skin. According to Axios, Colorado is in line with the national average when it comes to the amount of new cases of melanoma each year. That's good news on the whole, but nobody wants to be diagnosed, at all. Proper sunscreen, along with proper application can help alleviate "skin cancer" fears.
