When Risky Business premiered in the summer of 1983, it came at the end of a cycle of mostly disreputable comedies about teenage boys losing their virginity to older, experienced women—a cycle that included now largely forgotten films like Lewis John Carlino’s Class (Andrew McCarthy and Jacqueline Bisset), Alan Myerson’s Private Lessons (Eric Brown and Sylvia Kristel), and George Bowers’s My Tutor (Matt Lattanzi and Caren Kaye).

you can change.. Rocky IVJust like the songs, exercise routines and repetitive clips, it seems redundant to add another installment in this already falling franchise when you clearly lack material. Rocky IV is petty, childish and seems overlong despite of its 91 minutes of run time for it merely has an idea of a TV drama episode which is stretched to a point of exhaustion. Its painful to watch Sylvester Stallone go through this enormous amount of training and hardly make a point out there.

Another excellent film by Alfred Hitchcock. Personally, this is not one of my favorite Alfred Hitchcock films, although it is one of the most acclaimed and one of the most interesting. The script revolves around a confusion of identities, where an ordinary citizen is mistaken for a spy and ends up in a tremendous confusion with gigantic repercussions on his personal life and national security. The script is quite good and the story has no dead moments.

I can see the appeal of this movie, especially for its time. It is well executed and the acting is great. Many of the comedic scenes are original and it is remains light throughout. However, it pains me to say I just did not find myself being immersed or laughing very often, perhaps it was too light for my taste. Even comedies have a level of tension, suspense, character development, intended to pull you in, be invested at what is at stake, but I did not feel that here so much. Read More
