Lawmakers did the area a big favor by passing legislation that gave cities such as Harker Heights and Nolanville eligibility for state reimbursement for their exempted property.

By By Dave Miller | Herald staff writer More than 8 in 10 respondents to last week's KDH online poll were on board with water restrictions mandated by the regional water district serving the Killeen area. The restrictions were due to the replacement of a nearly mile-long section of pipe that brings drinking water to several entities served by Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1.

Greg Abbott was expected ito sign into law a measure that will allow the two cities to qualify for state reimbursement for property tax revenue lost to the state-mandated exemption.

It's over in Nolanville. Incumbent David C. Williams II held off a strong challenge by Patrick Ramsdell to keep his Place 4 seat on the Nolanville City Council. The final tally 139 votes to 128. Good race there.

Tight election in Nolanville. Early voting is in, and incumbent David Carson Williams II leads challenger Patrick Ramsdell by 6 votes, 32-26, for the Place 4 seat.

#KDHPolitics Challenger George French III has defeated Aurelia Ridley for Nolanville City Council Place 3 seat.
