HILLSBORO, Ore. – Hunter Omlid tossed four innings of shutout relief, Cole Messina had three hits and two RBIs and the Spokane Indians shut out the Hillsboro Hops 5-0 at Hillsboro Ballpark on Sunday to split the six-game High-A Northwest League series. Indians starter McCade Brown allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts over three innings, then Omlid took over, striking out five while allowing just one hit.

VICTORIA, B.C. – Down 4-1 entering the third period, the Spokane Chiefs made a furious comeback to force overtime. It took nearly the entire extra session, but the Chiefs continued their offensive onslaught and found the game winner. Andrew Cristall scored with 2 seconds left in overtime and the Chiefs edged the Victoria Royals 5-4 in Game 5 of the Western Hockey League Western Conference semifinals at Memorial Arena on Saturday.

HILLSBORO, Ore. – For the second game in a row,the Hillsboro Hops pushed a run across in the eighth inning and made it stick. J.J. D’Orazio sent a two-out RBI single through the left side of the infield and the Spokane Indians lost their third straight one-run game to the Hillsboro Hops 4-3 in the fifth of a six-game High-A Northwest League series at Hillsboro Ballpark on Saturday. The first-place Hops improved to 10-4. Spokane fell to 6-8. It was tied at 3-3 entering the bottom of the eighth.

VICTORIA, B.C. – The Spokane Chiefs had not held a lead during play against the Victoria Royals in any of the first three games of their Western Hockey League Western Conference semifinal series. In fact, they had allowed the first goal of the game in seven of their first eight playoff games. Both situations changed in a big way in Game 4, but the final wasn’t as easy as it could have been.

HILLSBORO, Ore. – After a back-and-forth affair, Angel Ortiz’s RBI single in the eighth inning proved to be the difference and the Spokane Indians were edged by the Hillsboro Hops 6-5 in the fourth of a six-game High-A Northwest League game at Hillsboro Ballpark on Friday. After winning the first two games of the series by a combined 16-4, the Indians (6-7) have lost two straight one-run games to the Hops (9-4).
