Harry Eustace expects Docklands to be "competitive" in Saturday's Cox Plate at Moonee Valley. He's landed the inside draw at the weekend, but his trainer isn't overly-concerned.

Dan Skelton hopes all roads lead to the Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle with Langer Dan. If he makes it to Cheltenham in March, the eight-year-old will be bidding for a remarkable third successive win at the Festival having landed back-to-back victories in the Coral Cup. However, having been placed behind Impaire Et Passe in two Graded races subsequently, handicaps don't appeal to the trainer as being an option for his star.

And the owners, the Gredley family, are in no mood to break up a winning combination.

Danny Tudhope has left his role as retained rider for Clipper Logistics. The 38-year-old has enjoyed a successful asocation with Steve Parkin’s team having won a string of big races including this year’s Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh aboard Fallen Angel. However, with the number of horses in training declining and the contract reaching its conclusion, the jockey has decided to head to Dubai for the winter before returning to the UK for the new season.

Are you looking forward to it? I suppose that comes down to whether you’re a glass half-full or a glass half-empty kind of person.
