JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - This is our first weekend of Summer. Heat Advisories continue for many areas where it will feel more like 105 degrees. If you are not under one of the advisories, don’t worry, you will not miss out on the heat. While heat is becoming the biggest story in our First Alert Forecast, rain will still make a few special appearances. Scattered showers and t-storms will be possible both Saturday and Sunday, with more widespread storms possible by Sunday.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Friday is the official start to summer (9:42pm), and it will feel like it! With just a few scattered showers expected, highs will warm to the low 90s and feel more like the triple digits. We might see mid-90s by Saturday, and heat stress will become an even greater factor. A heat index or feels like temperature of 105 degrees is possible Friday, prompting a Heat Advisory.
Fewer widespread rainy days ahead

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A more linear system will push into north Mississippi early Thursday and reach central Mississippi by late morning or early afternoon. As this system approaches, it will potentially bring damaging wind gusts and hail, and certainly widespread heavy downpours. This will continue to impact the area through early afternoon as it continues pushing south. Behind this, mostly dry conditions are expected for the rest of Thursday afternoon and evening.
