£400m Houndsditch building being developed by Brockton EverlastMace and Multiplex have been have been told a decision on who has won a City tower will not now be made until the summer. The pair had been expected to find out this week who had won the Dovetail Building for developer Brockton Everlast which is estimated to be worth up to £400m. But the two had been told to draw up a cost plan for the job whilst still in competition with the extension expected to last 12 weeks.

Tributes pour in for boss whose other roles included stints at McLaren, Balfour Beatty and OsborneTributes have poured in for former Wates chief operating officer Dave Smith who has died aged 65. Smith spent 32 years at Wates before stepping down as chief operating officer at the end of 2016. He then spent 18 months at McLaren before heading off to join Balfour Beatty as its managing director for its construction business in the south of England but went after a year in October 2019.

Revised proposals for 85 Gracechurch Street scheme submitted following basilica find Proposals for a tower in the Square Mile that had to be updated following the discovery of a Roman basilica at the site have been sent in to City of London planners. The scheme at 85 Gracechurch Street by Woods Bagot was set to be 32 storeys high and was given planning 18 months ago. It will include a new public hall and exhibition space.

City fringe job being developed by Dutch firm behind London Bridge towerThree firms are expected to send in bids for an office block on the City fringe by the end of the month. Hackney council voted last year to approve the 20-storey Edge Shoreditch building at 4 Christopher Street which is being developed by Mitsui Fudosan and Dutch developer Edge. The design and build job, which is worth upwards of £200m, is being bid by Mace, Multiplex and Sir Robert McAlpine.
