It’s probably only fitting that Tanner Zawada and Jace Yedsena received the same honor on Saturday. Basketball teammates for four years and classmates and friends for a lot longer, both members of Mahanoy Area’s dynamic senior duo were named to the Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State Boys’ Basketball Team, both earning third-team recognition in Class 3A. “I wouldn’t want to share this with anyone else,” said Yedsena, the Golden Bears’ high-flying guard, of his first All-State honor.
