Nicholas Patrick has been named the Quad-City Times Boys High School Athlete of the Year. The Alleman High School tennis standout became just the second player in Illinois history to finish his entire high school undefeated in singles. Patrick capped his career with his fourth straight Class 1A singles title on May 31 in Palatine, Ill., finishing 121-0 overall for the Pioneers. The only other player to go undefeated for four straight seasons was Marty Riessen of Hinsdale from 1956-60.
