The North Dakota House has approved a measure to replace Chinese-made drones in the state fleet. The state has 353 drones, 307 from China. The sponsor of House Bill 1038 -- Rep. Mike Nathe, R-Bismarck -- said he was told by some federal officials that the Chinese drones were equipped with data gathering and transmitting devices, Prairie Public reported. "These drones are flying over these communities, over the oil fields, over the missile sites, the air bases, everything," Nathe said.

The North Dakota Legislature will consider allowing so-called “blackout” plates on motor vehicles. Those plates would have white numbers and letters on a black background. Senate Bill 2133's main sponsor – Sen. Kristin Roers, R-Fargo – said the idea came from a constituent in Horace. "The person mentioned that a couple of our surrounding states — Iowa and Minnesota — had started having what they call 'blackout plates,'" Roers said.

The vote was not unanimous, however. Supporters of the program said there is a big demand for dental assistants and hygienists. But there is already a program at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton.
