I’m tired. There’s a certain malaise that’s laced with ennui defining this experience of being sick this last week and change. That unenviable brain fog that I got to hear so much of, and now it festers inside of me, providing a sense of weightlessness and distance from the world. The very idea of sitting around and doing nothing plagues me, perhaps more than something people jokingly call “the plague” does. Years ago, when there was a massive “indie boom” in the videogame world, I played, and enjoyed, The Stanley Parable. It was a fun, interesting game that took you down strange, dark paths and asked questions most videogames simple weren’t doing. A lot of the indie darlings of the time filled a niche that major publishers had failed at, and a game like The Stanley Parable being released by a major studio was virtually impossible.

It’s a book about light. I’m going to need time to sit and think about this one. This was technically my third read-through, although I believe it’s my first time making it all the way through. I waited years so it would feel fresh again and I’m very, very glad that I did. This isn’t the kind of book you consume, feel your feels in the moment and move on from. It’s the kind of book that you need to live in and allow time to digest.

There are times when I look at the film industry and am nothing but frustrated. The other day I was scrolling through Bluesky and saw someone post this trailer. It’s a movie I had no idea even existed, nor was I prepared for how on-the-nose it would be. It’s… incredible. You need to watch that. I also need to see this movie when it comes out. The very clear message here is about the black experience in America, and how a majority of the white public are looking to hear the same tired beats from black people.
