    BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — An Upshur County man is behind bars after the FBI was alerted to disturbing posts he placed on a social media account. Andrew Hitt, 24, of Buckhannong was taken into custody this week and charged with making terroristic threats. The posts were made on the social media platform Discord on Hitt’s account in which he shared thought of killing his parents as well as students at a nearby elementary school.

    Voters in Morgantown go to the polls today and on the ballot, among races for city council and a change to the city charter, is a referendum on an ordinance to ban camping in public spaces, aimed at curtailing the city’s homeless problem. City Council approved the camping ban ordinance in September 2024, but opponents organized and submitted a petition forcing the ordinance to the ballot for voters to decide.
