What costs more: a new Mercedes GLS SUV at $89,200, or a year at Harvard or the University of Southern California? According to the Associated Press, it’s the latter. There are now multiple colleges charging $90,000 or more for a year at their school, with USC topping the list at $95,000. Multiplied by four years for a college degree, that’s nearly $400,000, or enough to buy a nice home in most states.

(The Daily Signal) – Universities have suffered a cataclysmic decline in public approval and support. A Gallup poll taken this year found that only 36% of Americans polled either expressed “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in higher education—once the agreed-on touchstone to upward mobility. Gifting to most universities has been down for two consecutive years. There is zero intellectual diversity on most university campuses.
