Nearly a dozen authors and book sellers came together at the Old Bakery Beer Company in downtown Alton on Saturday during the return of the Books & Brunch Market, a morning of bliss for Riverbend reading enthusiasts. Book lovers moved from table to table, talking to area authors, getting books signed, flipping through pages, and generally indulging their local literary desires.

Sometimes an extra wheel can make all the difference. That was the case on Saturday at Ted’s Motorcycle World in Alton during the Midwest Swag Three-Wheel Meetup, where trike aficionados from across the nation gathered to compare and trick out their rides, enjoy food trucks and music, sign up for prizes, see whose ride had the best sound system, and shop for swag at local vendor booths.

Golf balls were flying on June 21 to support area waterfowl habitat as Edwardsville Ducks Unlimited had its Swings for Wings 18-hole golf scramble at Wood River’s Belk Park Golf Course. Everyone from duck-supporting duffers to scratch golfers hit the course to enjoy a day at the links while raising money to maintain the Mississippi Flyway as a prime area for waterfowl.
