    A major federal matching grant – one of the largest local preservation grants of its kind –will soon be making a big difference at Montecito’s historic Casa del Herrero. The California Missions Foundation was awarded a massive $750,000 grant for this important National Historic Landmark property located in our local foothills. These grant funds were obtained by CMF through the Save America’s Treasures Grant Program administered by the National Parks Service at the Department of the Interior.

    In many applications the high demands regarding fatigue properties of transmission components can be reached only by the application of customized case hardening. This case-hardening process results in a wear resistant surface layer in combination with a tough core. However, as a side effect, the components get distorted during heat treatment. This distortion has a significant cost impact because distorted components need to be hard machined after heat treatment.

The Flower Girls idea was created for Fiesta 1949. It was a special historical year as a Spirit of Fiesta, Lia Parker, was selected for the very first time.

    Back in February 2024, Microsoft announced that its Publisher DTP (Desktop Publishing Solution) will go out of support in October 2026 and no longer be included in Microsoft 365 plans. It's not as if the company has a replacement lined up, but for those of who currently use it, this represents a major disappointment.
