The UConn men's basketball program is looking to fill out the bottom of its roster with lower-rated recruits who can add to practice depth and, hopefully, earn some playing time in the future. One perfect example might be Jacob Ross, who made an official visit to UConn this week. Ross is the younger brother of Jayden Ross, the rising junior who will return to the Huskies this season despite seeing relatively scant playing time over his first two seasons in Storrs.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Or, in December at Madison Square Garden. The UConn men's basketball team will face defending national champion Florida in a Jimmy V Classic bout on Dec. 9 at MSG. Hassan Diarra is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Diarra, who helped the UConn men's basketball team to back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024, will be inducted into the Putnam Science Academy Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 7. From Jim Calhoun to Dan Hurley, the UConn men's basketball program's championship teams have largely been built a certain way. The Huskies have had precious few one-and-done, McDonald's All-American-type recruits. Typically, UConn has constructed its powerhouse teams with recruits ranked somewhere between the top 25 and top 60 in the nation out of high school, who developed into national champions and/or NBA draft picks over a few years in Storrs.

STORRS - Ryan Daniels didn't think Anthony DePino liked him very much when they first met during batting practice at The Grind training facility in Orange. DePino was more than a year older and more popular than Daniels, who was 12 at the time. "We were in a hitting group, he had so many friends, I was new there," Daniels recalled. "I didn't know if he liked me or not.""He was a younger guy," DePino recalled, with a smile.

Is there bumper-to-bumper traffic from Southbury to Norwalk every morning? Jeez!

IMHO, the ideal guys to fill out the bottom of UConn's roster would be local kids whose dream it is to play for Huskies (even if only garbage time). Think R.J. Evans (who got more than garbage time). Or, brothers of current UConn players. https://t.co/H3lpWIOhhX
