    BACK in February when Northern Rivers trainer Neil Falls picked up his Tommy Shelby-Barsandi bitch from education, the report was "excellent". It was a name he just had to have for her. On Sunday night, that bitch, now racing as Excellent, was brilliant in winning Grafton's time honoured Easter Maiden (450m) in a slick 25.30. She scored by a length and three-quarters over littermates Miss Bear and Brookers Road. "She probably should not even be racing," said Neil of Excellent.

    GOLDSTAR Racing makes its Australian racing debut with four starters at Q1 Lakeside on Saturday night and trainer Riley Evans says Goldstar Darcy is the kennels best hope. The other runners are Goldstar Sid, Goldstar Hunter and Goldstar Max. "Darcy is a nice type," Evans said. "He trialled at The Q really well and was strong to the line.

    GERARD Agius has been training for just six months but has Canya Dominate into Wednesday's Group 2 Rockhampton Cup and is now on the verge of shifting south to take on greyhound training full time. Canya Dominate (Shima Shine-Joyful) won his way into the Cup decider on Wednesday night after winning the Wildcard event two weeks ago.
