A Mildura man, who has admitted to a crime spree in Mildura and Red Cliffs, could be freed in April. The man pleaded guilty to charges including car theft and aggravated burglary. The Herald Sun says the court heard the man also broke into vehicles and homes.

Member for Mildura, Jade Benham has issued a reminder to be on the lookout for snakes during the summer months. Ms Benham issued this reminder after a close encounter with a slithery reptile which she mistook for a stick. “Brown snakes in particular are so easily disguised in our landscape and so easy to step on.” Ms Benham warned.

Grants have been made available to medical graduates who take up a career in general practice. Nine of those grants have been given to medical trainees in the Mildura region. The Victorian Government says the 32 million dollar program is aimed at addressing some of the dis-incentives that stop young doctors from pursuing a career in general practice.

The body of a missing swimmer has been located following a large-scale search in the Murray. About 4.20pm on Tuesday 14 January 2025, officers from Barrier Police District in NSW and officers from Victoria Police in Mildura responded to reports that a 54-year-old man had failed to return after going for a swim in the Murray River near Mildura.

The year 2024 ended with growing activity in the housing market and a general upward trend, according to the Rics UK Residential Property Survey for December.
The report reveals that house sales continued to see an upward trend with 5% (net balance) of respondents reporting an increase in new buyer enquiries.

Monthly construction output is estimated to have grown by 0.4% in volume terms in November 2024; this follows an upwardly revised decrease of 0.3% in October 2024.
This is according to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). This increase in monthly output came from rises in both new work (0.3%) and repair and maintenance (0.5%). At the sector level, five out of the nine sectors grew in November 2024, however housebuilding continued to struggle.
