By Dr. David Clark6/24/24 Hemophilia B suffers from having too few patients as subjects for research. Because of that, some of the knowledge about hemophilia B is extrapolated from studies of hemophilia A. We figure that the disorders are similar enough that what is true for A might also be true for B. This is even more so the case for inhibitor research where there are even fewer B inhibitor patients.

AbstractWarming can have profound impacts on ecological communities. However, explorations of how differences in biogeography and productivity might reshape the effect of warming have been limited to theoretical or proxy-based approaches: for instance, studies of latitudinal temperature gradients are often conflated with other drivers (e.g., species richness). Here, we overcome these limitations by using local geothermal temperature gradients across multiple high-latitude stream ecosystems.

Kiama Council says the Parliamentary Counsel has finalised the re-classification legislation, for the land on which Blue Haven Bonaira sits. What that means is Council can go ahead with the divestment of Blue Haven Bonaira, as it resolved to do in October 2022 and confirmed at its extraordinary meeting on February 28 this year. Council has stipulated that any sale, must be to an approved Aged Care Provider.

The rain has raised the alert levels for beach pollution at a number of location along our coastline. The NSW Government’s Beach Watch scheme advises that pollution is likely at Bellambi and Corrimal beaches today. While there’s an alert for possible pollution for Warilla, Bombo, and Kiama Surf beaches.
