    For those of us south of 60°N, high-speed internet, streaming channels, 4K TV broadcasts and 5G cellular service are things we take for granted. In Canada's North, however, it's a different story. Just this month, CBC North reached an important milestone: the first HD television broadcast of their weeknight news programs Igalaaq and Northbeat. This achievement is in part thanks to Kevin Woldum, operations manager for CBC North and Yellowknife switcher/director Allan Gofenko.

    CBC Kids News, working with Logics Academy, has created a world in Minecraft Education to help students in Grades 4 to 8 develop critical-thinking skills that apply to media, information, and journalism. In Reporting 101: Misinformation, students play the role of a CBC Kids News reporter investigating a rumour that summer vacation is being cancelled.
