The book is thin, a mere 124 pages, yet it carries a lot of emotional weight. The publisher is Oleb Books, a small press which only publishes works by writers with disabilities.

At one point in the film, while walking down the street, people stop to say things like "I love you!" One hysterical young woman poses for a selfie with Wheeler.

From February 16-April 8 the Roxie Theater will celebrate queer cinema with a carefully curated selection of films that run the gamut of LGBT cinema. The festival was co-curated by Jenni Olson, a filmmaker of note, and Lex Sloan, executive director of the Roxie. Films being shown include "Buddies" (1985), the first scripted drama to deal with the AIDS crisis.

From January 17 until February 23 BAMPFA, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives, will present "Masc II: Mascs Plus Muchachas," a film festival which will celebrate the culture of masculine assigned female at birth people. The festival's subtitle, "Butch Dykes, Trans Men and Gender Nonconforming Heroes in Cinema" describes what audiences who attend the screenings can expect.
