Former World Rally Championship driver Sean Johnston is hoping to find a way to bring a Citroën C3 Rally2 out to a round of this year’s ARA National Championship presented by Kubota. Driving a Peugeot 208 Rally4, Johnston took a debut class win at last weekend’s Olympus Rally. The Shelton-based event was only his second start on his native soil, but he’s confident it won’t be his last. “We have enough money to come back here for another round,” he told DirtFish.

Regardless of what happens in Spain next week, Elfyn Evans will lead the World Rally Championship after Rally Islas Canarias. But it’ll be the summer before his title rivals really show themselves, according to Toyota team principal Jari-Matti Latvala. Absent from Evans’ Kenyan victory last month – his third win from four starts – Latvala admitted he was impressed by the championship leader’s relaxed approach to 2025.

Born and raised in the heartland of Welsh rallying, Elfyn Evans is all about taking the sport to the people. On his last visit to Spain with the World Rally Championship in 2022, he declared it “a bit of a crime” for the calendar not to include events like it that are so popular with spectators. It may be Las Palmas this time instead of Salou, but Evans is looking forward to going back to Spain.
