Despite the primary role of the Kgs Royal Hussars being on tanks, Hussars undertake plenty of dismounted marksmanship training to ensure that they are just as lethal when on foot. The Regimental Shooting Team came fourth out of 13 teams at the Divisional Operational Shooting Competition and have qualified for the Defence Operational Shooting Competition.

Hundreds of British Army soldiers have arrived in Estonia to take part in a major multinational exercise, involving more than 13,000 troops from multiple NATO countries. Exercise Hedgehog aims to assess the combat readiness of the Estonian Defence Force (EDF) and its units, practice rapid deployments, enhance interoperability between allied forces, test the EDF's ability to respond to threat scenarios, and practice the rapid and large-scale deployment of allied forces to Estonia.

Last weekend over 2,400 young people took part in the Ten Tors Challenge on Dartmoor organised by HQ Army South West, based in Tidworth. Begun in 1960, this event sees youngsters in teams of four covering 35, 45 and 55 mile routes across the wild moorland and camping out overnight.

3 1/1 FRENCH DEPLOYMENT Charlie Company of 1 Royal Welsh have deployed on Ex GAULISH to CENZUB, one of the largest urban training areas in Europe. They are attached to 13th Demi-Brigade, French Foreign Legion as a Combined Arms Combat Team, with attachments from the King’s Royal Hussars, Royal Engineers and Royal Artillery. They have been taking part in a series of battle lessons.
