After an improbable 8-5 season in 2023, Northwestern came crashing back down to earth in 2024. In a brand new, 18-team Big Ten, the Wildcats finished in an abysmal 16th place, coming in at 4-8 and 2-7 in conference play.

After a strong win in College Park, Northwestern returned to Evanston for one last game on the lake, hosting the Wisconsin Badgers. In another game where nothing went right offensively, the ‘Cats were trounced 23-3. It’s the second time this season that the offense only mustered three points, once again leaving more questions than answers. So without further ado, let’s dive in.

After taking a step forward against Indiana, Jack Lausch and Co. headed to College Park to take on the Terps. In what turned out to be a stress-free game, the ‘Cats dominated Maryland for all 60 minutes, cruising to a 37-10 win.

After a solid victory over Eastern Illinois, Northwestern traveled out west to Seattle to kick off Big Ten play against Washington. They say when it rains it pours, and Seattle feels like the most likely place for that statement to be true. In his second start at quarterback, Jack Lausch and the Wildcats got walloped by the Huskies, falling 24-5 last Saturday night.

The Wildcats turned the offense over to redshirt sophomore Jack Lausch when they welcomed Eastern Illinois to Evanston. It was the first start for Lausch in his young career, and like most first-time starters, Saturday night was full of highs and lows for No. 12.

A new era of Northwestern Volleyball is underway. When the Wildcats take the floor in Las Vegas later this week, there will be a fresh face roaming the sidelines. After parting ways with Shane Davis in December, NU decided to bring in Grand Canyon University head coach Tim Nollan to build the program to new heights. Nollan had just led GCU to its first NCAA tournament appearance, a feat the ‘Cats have not reached since 2010, and he did not plan on leaving the desert.
