A federal district court has rejected a bid by healthcare providers to enforce independent dispute resolution (IDR) awards against an insurer under the No Surprises Act (NSA). The case is Guardian Flight LLC v. Health Care Serv. Corp., 2024 WL 2786913 (N.D. Tex. 2024). Guardian Flight LLC, an air ambulance service provider, sued an insurer after it refused to pay a certified IDR entity's award for disputed services.

Using data from Zillow, Stacker has compiled a list of 50 cities in Alabama with the fastest-growing home prices, and according to Stacker, the Fort Payne metro area has the most cities or towns on that top 50 list. The rankings are based on the dollar change in Zillow Home Values Index for all homes during the 12 months ending in May 2023. The data includes 415 cities and towns in Alabama.

Eric Dudash credits a dog with saving his life, and now the veteran and that dog work together to enlighten people about post-traumatic stress disorder and mental health issues faced by veterans. The Northeast Student Veteran Association at Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) recently hosted a PTSD Awareness program. The college was honored to have Chief Master Sergeant Dudash, accompanied by his service dog, Phantom, from the Warrior Freedom Service Dogs program, to speak.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Chairman Emeritus Alexander Moorhead, who served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Virgin for 24 years and as Chairman for five years. I was so blessed to start my Presidential journey at the University of the Virgin Islands when Alex Moorhead was Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was a brilliant, thoughtful man who embraced a high standard of excellence.
