The Glock 19 is imperfect. There’s nothing wholly controversial here in this statement. But the G19 is effective. How else would it have risen to its current place at the top of both Duty and EDC guns? Its imperfections, though, have allowed aftermarket parts companies to thrive. Lone Wolf has long been at the top of the Glock mod list.

Back in the late 1970s, Stretch Armstrong was a massive hit with kids like me. The goo-filled rubber wrestler could be stretched out to ridiculous lengths. Actually, that was Stretch Armstrong’s only trick. Someone at Sig Sauer may have had one of these as a kid, as I can clearly see the influence in the latest evolution (and longest version yet) of Sig’s P365 family: The P365 Fuse. The Sig Sauer P365 (3.1″) was a true micro-compact with solid capacity.

There’s something nostalgic about an underfolder. For me, it evokes Red Dawn and my impressionable Cold War-era youth. But there’s not an underfolder in the 1984 Red Dawn (or the 2012 version either, though I haven’t bothered with watching that one). As close as either film comes is a triangle folding stock.

I’m not a gun snob. I carry every pistol I review. This is the first PSA Dagger I’ve carried and the first of their pistols I’ve shot, and now I’m left wondering why I’m so late to the game. After 15 years of writing gun reviews, I’ve shot some dogs. There have been times (some as recently as last month) that I’ve gotten in a gun, taken it to the range, and found so many problems that I couldn’t conscionably write a review.

Springfield’s Prodigy double-stack 1911 has been out for almost two years now. After dismissing the whole 2011/DS 1911 craze for years, I’m finally ready to put in some trigger time with an open mind. It should come as no surprise that I’m reaching the same conclusion most have known for years: these guns are wildly capable. The Double-Stack 1911Some background. Part of what got me into guns was the simple historic appeal of the 1911. Springfield does this homage well with their Mil-Spec 1911.
