Published on March 14, 2025 Slip, slop, slap. Every Australian grows up knowing that phrase about the importance of wearing sunscreen because it is ingrained in the culture. Yet, for a long time, the country was missing its own brand of elevated SPFs that delivered protection while being cosmetically elegant and nourishing skin.

Serious art in New York City often conjures images of the grand uptown institutions—The Met, The Frick, MoMA. But this winter, the downtown scene is stealing the spotlight. From glowing interactive spheres at Pier 17 to towering pink chairs in Union Square, and a Battery Park hotel that’s more like a modern museum, this is art designed to be seen, savored, and, yep, Instagrammed.

MARY GONZALEZ-LEWIS, 60, SITS IN HER HOME ON A STORMY DAY, FEELING LIKE SO MANY OF US—FED UP WITH MISERABLE HEADLINES, WORRIED ABOUT WHAT’S COMING NEXT, AND WONDERING IF SHE’LL HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO GET BY WITHOUT HAVING TO LEAN ON FAMILY OR WHITE-KNUCKLE IT ALONG. ISN’T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE “THE HAPPIEST TIME IN LIFE”?
This roof has as many holes as my retirement plan.
Heather would be over the moon.
